Tell us about what you do in the School of LMC.

I am the academic advisor for undergraduate LMC students. I work with LMC majors and students with LMC minors. I also provide programmatic support for the M.S. Global Media & Cultures program, a joint degree between LMC and the School of Modern Languages.

Who had the greatest influence on your education and/or career path?

My mom taught elementary school throughout my childhood and early adult years, and I loved spending time in her classrooms helping after school. I stumbled into academic advising after I realized that helping my friends plan their schedules in college was actually a real job!

What do you enjoy most about your work?

I love strategizing the best ways to support my students. The best parts of advising are helping students achieve their goals, guiding them through their time here at Tech, and getting set up for success in their future endeavors.

Why did you decide to work at Georgia Tech, and what's the best part about working here?

I really enjoy working with liberal arts at an Institute most known for STEM. As an English major, albeit many years ago, I understand the value of a liberal arts degree and am so grateful for my experiences.

What moment in LMC/at Georgia Tech stands out as the most memorable?

I met with my first group of FASET orientation students in 2018 and now get to see them graduate — so I think my most memorable moment might just happen at this year’s graduation!

Do you have any advice for LMC students at Georgia Tech?

Take advantage of all the exciting opportunities available to you as a student at Georgia Tech. This is a great time in your life to meet new people, explore new challenges, and try out classes, workshops, and internships you may never have considered before.

When you're not working, what do you like to do?

I am a total book nerd! I love spending time with my book club friends, swapping good books, and talking all about politics and pop culture.

If you weren't doing this, what would you be doing?

I would totally be a librarian!

Do you have an outstanding student, faculty member, staff member, or alumni you'd like to see spotlighted? Nominate them here.
