Suchismita Dutta, Marion L. Brittain Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication (LMC), authored a commentary titled “Antiracist Practices in Academia: Why the Urgency?” published in Impact: The Journal of the Center for Interdisciplinary Teaching & Learning in February 2022.
In the commentary, Dutta outlines two examples from her teaching. The first example was an assignment from an undergraduate composition and rhetoric course titled, “Writing Race Memory and Trauma.” The second example was a reading group using Ijeoma Oluo’s So You Want to Talk About Race which was open to faculty and staff at Georgia Tech.
The full commentary can be found at https://sites.bu.edu/impact/previous-issues/impact-winter-2022/antiracist-practices-in-academia/.
The Marion L. Brittain Postdoctoral Fellowship is administered by the Writing and Communication Program in LMC. It offers an opportunity for emerging scholars to develop innovative teaching and scholarship in writing and communication in their role as faculty members.
