Dennis Zhou, Ph.D, is currently a third-year medical student at Vanderbilt University’s School of Medicine. He is also part of Vanderbilt’s Medical Innovator Development Program (MIDP), which focuses on training doctoral graduates to become future physician-innovators. He received his doctoral degree in Bioengineering from Georgia Tech, where he studied cell mechano-transduction and signaling activity at focal adhesions. In this talk, Dennis and the MIDP coordinator will first give a short overview of MIDP, including the program’s goals, curriculum, and application process. Dennis will then share his experience working within medical innovation and the lessons he has learned since finishing his Ph.D.
