Nathan MoonNathan W. Moon, director of research for the Center for Advanced Communications Policy in the School of Public Policy, was recently named to Georgia Tech’s Research Faculty Teaching Fellows program. The program, sponsored by the Office of the Executive Vice President for Research, provides research faculty with opportunities to become first-time instructors or, if they have taught already, offer new courses in their area of expertise.
Moon earned a spot in the program because of his work teaching PUBP 4813/8803: Policy Innovation for Inclusion. He developed the course alongside Paul M.A. Baker of the Center for the Development and Application of Internet of Things Technologies. Moon and Baker launched the inaugural section of the course in Spring 2022, and they also co-lead a program on postdoctoral training related to it.
“Learning about how to make technologies more inclusive, particularly as they relate to policy, is an integral way to improve the human condition,” Moon said. “I am grateful for the opportunity to learn how better to teach students about this important field.”
In the past, Moon has taught courses in the School of History and Sociology — including on 20th-century Europe and modern America — and is excited to be teaching in his home unit for the first time.
