There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Please join the Yellow Jacket Flying Club as we commemorate 75 years of aviation at Georgia Tech. Since its inception in 1945, the YJFC has trained and inspired countless aviators and made invaluable contributions to flying history.
The 75th Anniversary Banquet will be held at the renowned Delta Flight Museum. What better way to catch up with old friends and make new ones than while standing next to a Douglas DC-3 with hors d'oeuvres and a drink from the open bar? Following the cocktail hour, enjoy a seated dinner, a YJFC retrospective, and remarks (including videos!) from special guest speaker, CDR Frank Weisser USN (Ret.), former Blue Angels Lead Solo Pilot and Operations Officer. After dinner, it's time to cut loose on the dance floor and show off your best moves before heading off to bed to dream about your next flight!
In addition to the banquet, the YJFC will mark this milestone with a weekend of events, including a welcome reception and an airport open house at Peachtree-Dekalb Airport (PDK).
We thank you for your patience as we continue to work towards making it safe to celebrate this momentous occasion. After several delays, we anticipate finally being able to get together in April. However, we are continuing to monitor the current covid situation and will promptly communicate any further changes or updates to our plans so that we may keep our YJFC family healthy and safe.
