There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. The energy systems are rapidly evolving especially in terms of the generation and load profile. The changes are mainly driven by the need to move rapidly towards a cleaner environment and sustainable energy resources. This talk will focus on the evolving landscape, the critical role of energy storage systems, and how power systems engineers can help this transition.
The talk is by Prashant Kansal, PE, SMIEEE, Power Systems Team Lead at Tesla Energy. The team led by him is responsible for developing Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) power systems models, performing grid interconnection studies, and defining BESS grid interconnection performance requirements.
