Suzuki-Chenoweth, Griedling Host Japanese STEM Workshop at Metro Atlanta Middle School

Satomi Suzuki-Chenoweth, coordinator of the Japanese Program and lecturer of Japanese in the School of Modern Languages, and Kelly Griedling, lecturer in the Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering, led a workshop at Elkins Pointe Middle School in Roswell, Georgia, on Jan. 26.

Foreign language, science, and math students in grades 6-9 attended the workshop. The students learned about the scientific mechanisms of the Japanese “Maglev” bullet train, which uses a magnetic levitation railway system; basic Japanese science words; and how innovation impacts society.
