There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

"Newsgames are particularly optimal for exploring and explaining topics and stories that involved complex systems, such as climate change, armed conflicts, or budget showdowns," said Ian Bogost, Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in Digital Media, in his opening presentation during a recent gathering at University of Minnesota’s Journalism Center. Bogost continued, "Allowing people to experience these stories, more than just showing or telling them the information, has the potential to have enormous impact on their understanding of a topic."
