The Georgia Tech scientist mentioned in this story's headline is M.G. Finn, professor and chair of the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry, and James A. Carlos Family Chair for Pediatric Technology. Finn, reacting to Pfizer's announcement that it is asking for FDA emergency authorization of its two-shot vaccine for children ages six months to five years, says he is confident the vaccine will be safe. "The data will be carefully reviewed by the Food and Drug administration. These are real experts. The data is quite rigorous, and it will not be approved for this age group until and unless the data shows that it is safe and efficacious," Finn says.
