Full Summary: The Georgia Tech Symphony Orchestra presents the Georgia premiere of “Prayer”, a piece written on a theme of J.S. Bach’s “Chaconne” by Taiwanese composer Hsin-Lei Chen. Also featured is the Chamber Symphony in C Minor, a string orchestra arrangement of Shostakovich’s haunting, autobiographical String Quartet No. 8. Last but not least is Dvorak’s sixth symphony, which was influenced by Czech folk music as well as Brahms’s second symphony and is the work that first brought him international acclaim as a symphonist.
