Zishen Wan has been selected as a 2021 DAC Young Fellow and won the Best Research Video Award for his outstanding academic performance and research presentation. These honors were awarded by the 58th IEEE/ACM Design Automation Conference (DAC), which is a flagship conference in the field of electronic design automation. The conference was held December 5-9 in San Francisco, California.

Wan is a Ph.D. student in the Georgia Tech School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), where he is a member of the Integrated Circuits and Systems Research Lab. He is advised by Arijit Raychowdhury, who is a professor and the Steve W. Chaddick School Chair of ECE.

Wan received the B.S. degree from Harbin Institute of Technology in 2018 and the M.S. degree from Harvard University in 2020, both in electrical engineering. He has general research interests in computer architecture and VLSI, with a focus on domain-specific hardware design and reliability. Wan aims to build efficient and reliable hardware and systems for next-generation autonomous machines–such as robots, drones, and unmanned vehicles–through algorithm-hardware co-design and emerging memory technologies. 

Through his academic work, Wan has also received the Best Paper Award from the IEEE/ACM Design Automation Conference (DAC) in 2020 and the Best Paper Award in IEEE Computer Architecture Letters (CAL) in 2020. To learn more about his work, visit Wan’s webpage
