Joseph Bankoff, a Distinguished Professor of the Practice and former chair of the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, published an opinion piece in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Jan. 8. The article is titled “How to protect real integrity of elections.”

In it, Bankoff discusses his displeasure with rulings by the Supreme Court in previous years that have affected voting rights. He specifically names the Court’s decisions to strike down parts of the Voting Rights Act and to allow partisan redistricting by state legislatures. He argues that these decisions protect political parties over voters.
