Assistant Professor Emily Grubert, who has a courtesy appointment in the School of Public Policy, recently co-authored an article titled “Winter Storm Uri: A Test of Texas’ Water Infrastructure and Water Resource Resilience to Extreme Winter Weather Events.” The article was published in the Journal of Extreme Events.
In it, Grubert and her co-authors evaluate the impacts of Winter Storm Uri, which hit Texas in February of 2021, on vulnerable communities. They also assess the state government’s preparedness and response to the storm, and they hope that together, these analyses will help Texas be better prepared for future winter weather disasters.
