After almost a year after the completion of the 2021 InVenture Prize Competition, we caught up with the StartProto team, Zach Cloud and Tim Felbinger, who placed second in this past year’s competition. The duo presented their idea as a safety and analytics system to control access to shared tools and have continued to grow since.
Their biggest aid in the 2021 InVenture Prize Competition was the mentoring and the feedback they received as it would also aid their endeavors in the long run. One of their greatest takeaways was the importance of people and users in innovation.
“You can’t underestimate the power of going out and talking to people and understanding your market. A lot of what they are looking for out there is for you to go out and demonstrate that there is real-world value, so the only way to do that is to talk to people,” advised Tim Felbinger.
Today, Zach and Tim have enhanced and expanded StartProto in remarkable ways, including raising over 1.3 million in funding for their new company. They are both working full-time for StartProto and are looking forward to further expanding their startup. They add that they are looking for new hires and encourage interested candidates to apply!
