Congratulations to Xu-Yan Chen, associate professor in the School of Mathematics, and the 2021 recipient of the School's Fulmer Prize. The prize recognizes Xu-Yan's work over a number of years, contributing significantly to student success with a broad impact on engineering students at Georgia Tech. Over the past decade, Xu-Yan has taught many engineering students in his Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, and Calculus courses. In recent years he has taken on the role of course coordinator for Differential Equations, also providing valuable materials for the other instructors in that course. His section is regularly requested by students, a further recognition of his dedication to student success. The late Howard Woodham (Engineering ’48) established the Fulmer Faculty Teaching Fund Endowment in memory of Herman Fulmer, his former mathematics professor.
