Vikas Madhav Nagarajan, a student in the M.S. in Public Policy program, was recently the lead author on a paper published in Regional Studies in Marine Science. The paper is titled “Status of important coastal habitats of North Tamil Nadu: Diversity, current threats and approaches for conservation.”
In the study, Nagarajan and his co-authors describe the uniqueness of the coast of North Tamil Nadu, a state in India. The region contains five important wetlands, from which the researchers record hundreds of species. They conclude by outlining the threats to the region and its wetlands, as well as potential conservation efforts.
