There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

The Georgia Tech Library has launched a self-checkout service of physical materials for all faculty, students and staff. The kiosks, which use your BuzzCard, are located on the first floor of both Crosland Tower and Price Gilbert.

The Crosland Tower kiosk is located in the first floor Science Fiction Lounge. The Price Gilbert kiosks are located on either side of the first floor Popular Reading Collection.

“We’re extremely excited to bring this functionality back to the Library,” said Sharetha Dantes, the Library’s senior business analyst who oversaw the project. “Students are our top priority, and we want to make sure we optimize the lending process to make their Library experience smoother.”

The process is simple. Just walk up to a kiosk:

  • Scan your BuzzCard to start;
  • Scan the barcodes of all your books; and
  • Tap your BuzzCard to finish. That’s it!

When you’re done with your materials, simply deposit your books in the drop boxes located in the Library and Clough.
