Semiconductor chips are incredibly complicated to produce, and supply chain issues continue to extend the time it takes to make a chip, they said. The authors then go on to propose ways that Georgia can help remedy this shortage. They suggest assisting businesses in buying chips online, increasing STEM education to lead more students towards the semiconductor field, and attracting foreign investment for parts, among others.
