Sugato Nag is one India's leading sitar players, known for his virtuosity and depth of feeling. He received extensive training under Pandit Buddhadev Das Gupta, one of the leading sarod players of the past century, as well as with the legendary Radhika Mohan Maitre. Sugato Nag has also been deeply influenced by the music of Vilayat Khan, and marries the power his his guru's gharana with the sweetness of Ustad Vilayat Khan's style. He has toured extensively in Europe, the United States, and India, and has received many awards, such as first place Dover Lane music conference and the National Talent Scholarship competitions.
 
He will be accompanied on tabla by one of India's leading players, Subrata Bhatthacharya who is currently a visiting professor at Unversity of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. He received advanced training form the legendary Pandit Shankar Ghosh. He has accompanied many of India's leading instrumentalists including Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Dr. L. Subramaniam, Pandit Buddhaditya Mukherjee, Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan.He is the recipient of numerous prizes including the Sangeet Prabhankar and the Gold Medal and the Saangeet Praveen from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahadad, and Sangeet Bhushan from the Bhatkhande College, Lucknow.
