The Georgia Tech Summer in D.C. Internship Program is looking for interns beginning Summer 2011. Approximately five students from across the campus will be selected to each receive a $5,000 stipend to cover expenses (housing, transportation and living expenses) while serving in a full-time capacity as an intern in Washington, D.C. This program is open to both undergraduate and graduate students of all majors.
Students will be required to secure their own internship with the assistance of the Division of Professional Practice (DoPP) and the Office of Government and Community Relations. Internships can include, but are not limited to, jobs with members of Congress, Congressional Committees, executive branch offices or not-for-profit organizations.
During the course of the internship, students will work full-time in offices in and around Washington, D.C., for approximately 10 weeks. To earn course credit, interns will also be required to complete weekly journals and must be available to promote the internship program to other GT students once they return to campus.

Selection is based on potential for leadership as indicated by grades, work experiences, extracurricular ac tivities, interests, and maturity. You will be asked to furnish a transcript and resume, as well as references from people who have taught you or worked with you.
