Kaye Husbands Fealing, dean of the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, was recently appointed vice chair of the Committee on Equal Opportunities in Science and Engineering (CEOSE) for the next two years. The committee was established by Congress to advise the National Science Foundation concerning the implementation of the Science and Engineering Equal Opportunities Act and other policies and activities to encourage the full participation of women, underrepresented minorities, and persons with disabilities in scientific, engineering, and professional fields.
“I am proud of the work of this committee to shine a light on the importance of creating equal opportunities and access for underrepresented groups in STEM fields,” said Husbands Fealing. “I am honored to accept the role of vice chair and will continue efforts to improve access to research opportunities for the ‘missing millions’ in STEM.”
Husbands Fealing is in her second term on the CEOSE committee. A key output of the committee is their biennial report to Congress. The 2019-2020 report was recently approved and is titled Making Visible the Invisible: Bold Leadership Actions. Use the links below to learn more and review the report:
