Media, Culture, and Debate in Korean 2021 Book CoverSeung-Eun Chang, lecturer of Korean in the School of Modern Languages, published a new book titled Media, Culture, and Debate in Korean.
The book, integrated with Chang’s media curation project at Georgia Tech, provides a roadmap for a fourth-year Korean course centered around media and culture and includes access to a curation of virtual media resources such as film, documentary, TV variety shows, newspaper, drama, music, and advertising. It addresses the cultural issues in Korean society which are transforming people’s perspectives, language, and lifestyle through the contexts of historical background, the struggle between tradition and changing values, positive and negative impact of the phenomenon, neologism, and potential solutions.
Designed for use in both online and face-to-face classes, the book can serve as a main textbook as well as a resource to supplement a curriculum.
