Andrea Jonsson, assistant professor of French in the School of Modern Languages, co-authored a book titled Young-Girls in Echoland: #Theorizing Tiqqun. The book will be released by the University of Minnesota Press as part of their Forerunners Series in November 2021.

The book is a post-digital response to Tiqqun’s Preliminary Materials for a Theory of the Young-Girl, a controversial work of anti-capitalist philosophy that has attracted musicians, playwrights, feminist theorists, and men's-rights activists since its publication in 1999. In their response, Heather Warren-Crow and Jonsson show how Tiqqun’s controversial figure has grown and matured but also stayed “unapologetically girly in the works of artists and scholars” in the last two decades. They take the reader on a modern journey from “VSCO girls to basic bitches to vampires.”

The book is available for pre-order on the University of Minnesota website.
