Our first Graduate Forum will feature rehearsal presentations by HSOC students Gloria Calhoun, Marjorie Hall, and Clare Barbour, who are scheduled to present their work at the SHOT annual meeting in mid-November. Your feedback on these presentations will be welcomed during the session.

  • Gloria Calhoun: “Indigenous Knowledge and Imperial Industry: Origins of Submarine Telegraph Cables”
  • Clare Barbour: “Mapping Snowden’s Files: GIS Evidence of Technological Colonialism and the ‘Persistence’ Feature of Infrastructure”
  • Marjorie Hall: “Unattainable Justice: Misguided Goals and the Persistence of Blight in the Superfund Program”

The agenda will also include useful tips for all HSOC graduate students on successfully submitting conference proposals.
