THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED: Join us online Thursday, Feb. 10 from 6 to 9 p.m. to celebrate the life and work of Eugie Foster through the symposium and award ceremony named in her honor.
This event finishes the celebration of 50 years of science fiction at Georgia Tech, commemorating Irving "Bud" Foote, then a professor in what is now the School of Literature, Media, and Communication teaching the first science fiction course at Georgia Tech.
The Eugie Award Symposium for Speculative Fiction brings together science fiction, fantasy, and horror authors, editors, and scholars from around the world. The Eugie Foster Memorial Award for Short Fiction (or Eugie Award), honors stories that are beautiful, thoughtful, passionate, and that change both individual readers and the field of speculative fiction as a whole.
This annual award is presented at Dragon Con, the nation’s largest fan-run convention.
