Jenna Jordan, assistant professor and director of graduate studies; Adam Stulberg, Sam Nunn Professor and chair of the Nunn School; and Jonathan Darsey, a Ph.D. student in international relations, contributed two articles to the most recent volume of International Trends. The volume, covering Jan. – March 2021, is titled “Evolution of Statecraft.”

Jordan and Stulberg co-authored the introductory article, titled “Statecraft in U.S.-Russia Relations: Meaning, Dilemmas, and Significance,” alongside Mikhail Troitskiy of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. The article discusses the meaning of the term “statecraft” and illustrates it using several potential dilemmas common to foreign policymakers.

Stulberg and Darsey authored a second article titled “The Cloud of Sanctions: Contending U.S.-Russian Approaches & Strategic Implications.” It outlines the nature and origin of the seemingly paradoxical nature of U.S.-Russia sanctions that’ve been in place since 2014.
