We will be hosting a series of invited speaker events throughout the Fall 2021 semester. These will (1) help us develop the next generation of leaders in AI for medicine and healthcare by exposing students to current developments within the field and (2) foster a community focused on AI for healthcare at Georgia Tech.
Dr. Lance Waller, Professor in Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at Emory University and Director of the WHSC Data Science Initiative will present on Thursday, September 16th at 6pm EST on Bluejeans.
Presentation Abstract:
"The rise of the fields of data science and AI offers great potential to biomedical and public health research. However, it is important to compare what questions are of interest and what questions are answered. We’ll define deep collaboration, evaluate how calculations have consequences, and note that, while good analyses might be technological marvels, but great analyses include humility."
