Summaries

Summary Sentence: Lab Archives Researcher Training Session

Full Summary: No summary paragraph submitted.

Georgia Tech has acquired Lab Archives which is a leading Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) and Research Data management platform.  We have licensed both the Academic Edition (for classes), as well as the Research Edition (for research labs). We are doing a soft launch this fall for early adopters and anyone who wants to get started using ELNs.

Lab Archives is not currently approved to store and process controlled research data (e.g., research subject to regulations such as CUI, DFARS 7012, Export Control, IRB, or HIPAA); however, it can be used for any Open Science research or other work from unrestricted grants and contracts.

These restrictions may change after the next review of the Lab Archives service which is planned for early 2022.

Register in advance for this training session -https://labarchives.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJEpdu2orjwjEtezorpMDtursF2qGcqJxa6V

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. The session will include tips for the use of LabArchives in the lab environment including the import, search, and retrieval of scientific data. At the end of this session, you will be able to:

  1. Build a LabArchives notebook that compliments your current research workflow and lab structure
  2. Identify best practices and tips for managing a lab notebook with member access management and the activity feed
  3. Maximize the collaboration across your notebook with lab members while protecting your intellectual property
