The Georgia Tech Police Department Office of Emergency Preparedness will conduct a hazmat exercise on Tuesday, March 22, from approximately 10 a.m. – noon. The training will take place in the parking area near the Manufacturing Related Disciplines Complex (MRDC) located at 771 Ferst Drive.

The Atlanta Fire Department and Airgas, a distributor of industrial, medical and specialty gases and related equipment, will participate in the drill. Since this is a logistical exercise, the campus community should anticipate numerous emergency response and fire vehicles in the vicinity during the exercise period.

The week of spring break was selected for the training to minimize campus disruptions, according to Andy Altizer, director of Georgia Tech Emergency Preparedness.
