There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Fuel cells operate like batteries but do not run down. Instead, they generate electricity from a simple electrochemical reaction in which oxygen and hydrogen combine to form water. With heat and water as the primary byproducts, fuel cells provide a clean, reliable and efficient power source. Georgia Tech’s Center for Innovative Fuel Cell and Battery Technologies is advancing sustainable fuel cell and battery technologies through world-class research that spans from fundamental discovery to the design and prototyping of micro and nanoscale devices for energy generation.

Working with industry partners, engineers and scientists from the Georgia Tech Research Institute, Georgia Tech's School of Materials Science and EngineeringSchool of Mechanical EngineeringSchool of Chemical EngineeringSchool of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and the National Electric Energy Testing, Research and Applications Center (NEETRAC) based at Georgia Tech are focused on developing and commercializing smaller, more efficient, and cost-effective fuel cell and battery technologies. The Center’s groundbreaking research has a wide range of applications including, wireless telecommunications, ultra-low emission vehicles, and distributed stationary power supplies, such as generators.
