There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Many of the products and technologies that have become so much a part of our everyday lives, such as our vehicles, cell phones, and lap top computers, cannot function without long-lasting, rechargeable batteries. But the batteries that currently dominate the market have two major limitations - energy capacity and charge rate.
Researchers at Georgia Tech are developing a wide range of lightweight, cost-effective, and high-energy density storage devices, such as fuel cells, solar cells, high-energy density batteries, and supercapacitors to address these limitations.
Research encompasses state-of-the-art facilities, such as the Center for Innovative Fuel Cell and Battery Technologies a multidisciplinary center focused on improving the performance and cost of batteries for use in wireless telecommunications, electric cars and stationery storage systems.
