The Energy Burden in the Southeast – Solutions through Community and Business Engagement
Co-investigators: Michael Oxman, Beril Toktay, Marilyn Brown

Summary: The investigators propose establishing a thorough understanding of the current and potential approaches to reducing the significant energy burden (on low-income households) in the Southeast (with a primary focus on the Greater Atlanta region) by exploring and validating a selected approach through multi-stakeholder engagement and in-depth financial analysis. Actionable recommendations for local organizations and Georgia Tech will be developed. 

Collaborators: Georgia Tech’s Serve-Learn-Sustain Initiative, Collective Wisdom, and Milepost Consulting. Engagement and input to be requested from the Partnership for Southern Equity, Southface, the Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance, and Southern Company.
