Smart Cities and the Role of Data Transparency 
in Evidence-based Energy Policies at the Urban 
Scale

Principal Investigator – Jennifer Clark; co-investigators – Debora Lam, Emma French

Summary:  The investigators propose exploring multiple cases of data and energy benchmarking policies in southeastern cities to identify open data used for and derived from local EE policies to better understand the effects of the policies implemented by different cities. They will produce a formal report and conduct a regional workshop. 
 
Project Collaborators: City of Atlanta Office of Sustainability, Southface, the GreenLink Group, Georgia Tech’s Center for Urban Innovation, Georgia Tech’s Institute for People and Technology, the Kinder Institute for Urban Research at Rice University, and City of Orlando Office of Sustainability and Energy.
