Mary Frank Fox, Dean's Distinguished Professor in the School of Public Policy, was published in Science, Technology, and Human Values on July 16, 2021. The article, “Publications about Women, Science, and Engineering: Use of Sex and Gender in Titles over a Forty-six-year Period," reviews more than 23,000 articles with sex and/or gender in the title, finding that the use of gender in titles has increased over time and comes with a citation advantage. Fox and her co-authors explore the associated topics and concentration across journals and provide insight into social inequalities and science policies.
