Stefanny Arcos is a rising third-year student majoring in economics with a minor in computing and media and a certificate in finance.
Over the summer, she has been taking three economics classes at Georgia Tech, with her favorite being sports economics with Thomas Woodbury. "I have enjoyed taking sports economics, because it has been very engaging and has given me a different perspective on how economics impacts our everyday lives," said Arcos.
Around campus, Arcos works as a building supervisor at the Campus Recreation Center (CRC) and as a student assistant for the Office of Undergraduate Education for their first-year fall abroad program. "I have loved working at the CRC, because I am constantly surrounded by the GT community and have enjoyed getting to know my peers outside of a classroom setting," she said.
Outside of classes and work, Arcos enjoys traveling when possible and visiting places in Atlanta, like the High Museum of Art. Recently, she drove to Tennesee with friends to explore Nashville, a city she had never seen before.
Soon, Arcos's travels will be international. In mid-August, she will travel to Santa Maria, Brazil, to pursue work for her church. Arcos plans to explore the community and help where needed while also researching how global religious norms impact the community and Brazil’s changing religious landscape.
