Sidewalk improvements will begin July 16 along 10th Street. Locations include 10th Street (southside) from Northside Drive to Hemphill Avenue and Hemphill Avenue from 10th Street to 8th Street. The sidewalks will be closed for approximately 90 days. Signage will be in place to provide direction for pedestrian traffic to the opposite sidewalks. Temporary fencing will be installed.
This project will continue the sidewalk detail found in front of the Georgia Tech Police Department, improve lighting/safety and increase accessiblity and ADA compliance. The new sidewalk will be widened to 12' with a brick-band detail providing character to the walkway along 10th Street and in front of Paper Tricentennial Building.
