An Olympics unlike any other begins on July 23rd. Originally scheduled in 2020, the Tokyo Olympics was postponed to the Covid-19 pandemic and after one year is still steeped in uncertainty. Restrictions on athletes from all over the globe joining in one location, limited spectators, a Tokyo state of emergency, and a pandemic that has not entirely receded are just some of the issues raised by this event.
