Vikrant Kamble, a Ph.D. student in the School of Economics, will join the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (AERE) Graduate Student Engagement Committee.

AERE facilitates discussion around natural and environmental resource management and is one of the premier associations of its kind. The organization runs two journals and hosts conferences, meetings, and workshops for over 1,000 members from more than 30 different countries.

Kamble and fellow committee members — led by Professor Sarah Jacobson at Williams and Professor Sathya Gopalakrishnan at the Ohio State University — will help graduate students interested in environmental, energy, and resource economics reach out to seasoned professionals and shape their careers in the field.

Why did he choose to get involved? Kamble said he met some of the best economists associated with AERE at panels sponsored by the organization.“I always wanted to work with them to explore the field,” he said. “This committee is a wonderful opportunity to get associated with AERE and the team.”

Laura Taylor, professor and chair of the School of Economics, is a previous president of the association and a 2020 Fellow.
