About this Session: This presentation provides insights into why LGBTQIA+ students often need and seek targeted support and resources. Staff will learn specific approaches and language for student interactions to maximize students' well-being and academic performance. Additionally, resources available on Georgia Tech's campus and off-campus will be reviewed to enhance referral and access to meet these students' needs.

About Ren Massey: Dr. Ren Massey (he/him) is a licensed clinical psychologist and internally recognized trainer on LGBTQIA issues with a specific focus on transgender and gender diverse people. He has served on the Board of Directors of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) and on the Faculty of the WPATH Global Education Initiative (GEI). After serving on the GEI Steering Group, he is now the Co-Chair/Mental Health Chair of the WPATH GEI. He is also on the committee to update the Adolescents chapter and the People Living in Institutions chapter of the WPATH Standards of Care for people who are Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming.
