Georgia Tech's World Englishes Committee invites faculty to an informal "tertulia" to discuss experiences and strategies for dialogue with students about writing and communication concerns in Georgia Tech courses. Note: The Spanish term "tertulia" refers to an informal gathering to share expertise and broaden individual knowledge on a topic. The concept has recently been adopted by Science and Technology disciplines as a means of discussing special topics. "Tertulia I: Effective Feedback in the Multilingual/Multicultural Classroom." This discussion will focus on the multiple perspectives reflected in student writing and ways to promote productive dialogue about differences in writing conventions.
