There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. "The ivory tower is very heirarchical, there are so many layers that need to be unpacked, says Susan Lozier, Professor in the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, and Dean and Betsy Middleton and John Clark Sutherland Chair in the College of Sciences. Lozier, also president of the American Geophysical Union, one of the world's largest scientific organizations, says the AGU’s new strategic plan is to connect scientists more with local communities and take on a “solutions-based” approach to science that would include global warming’s impacts, environmental justice, and geohealth, which involves examining the effects of climate change on health.
