General Phil Breedlove, USAF (ret.), distinguished professor of the practice in the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, participated in a webinar hosted by the Finnish Institute of International Affairs (FIIA) and The Center on US Politics and Power (CUSPP). In the entitled "Transatlantic defense and security challenges," General Breedlove, former NATO Supreme Allied Commander (SACEUR), helps explain some military challenges NATO and key partners will face in the next few years.

General Breedlove was joined by Leo Michel, a non-resident fellow at FIIA, and Charly Salonius-Pasternak, a leading researcher at FIIA. In the event,  they discussed what it meant to be the SACEUR, Russia's annexation of Crimea, the armed intervention in Eastern Ukraine, and the steps NATO, partners, and allies have taken to deter aggression.
