Does any unit on campus offer self-defense classes for female employees and students?
The Tech Police Department offers Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) classes to female students and employees. The free course is offered over three days, for four hours per day. The course is usually offered once a semester. “We usually do the class for groups of 10 to 12 women,” said Officer Alex Gutierrez. “People will contact me, I put them on the waiting list and when I have enough in a group, I contact them.” For more about the R.A.D. course, visit www.rad-systems.com or e-mail Gutierrez.
