There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Directed by Marwa Zein, Khartoum Offside depicts a group of young women in Khartoum defying a ban by the Sundanese Islamic Military government to play organized soccer. Determined to play soccer professionally, they fearlessly fight to get officially recognized as Sudan's National Women's team. The team continues to be marginalized despite FIFA's support--but a new spark of hope could mean real change of the entire system.
Upon RSVP you will receive a screening link. Watch the film at your leisure, then join us for the April 8 panel discussion with Prof. Laura Bier Prof. Mary McDonald, and Prof. Kirk Bowman.
