ECE Holds Steady in 2011 U.S. News Best Colleges Rankings

The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Tech maintained its standings from the last two years in the 2011 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings, with electrical engineering placing 5th and computer engineering placing 6th.

The College of Engineering (CoE) moved up a spot to 4th and tied with CalTech. All Georgia Tech CoE disciplines placed in the top 10 of their respective rankings, with seven of them in the top 5. Georgia Tech also retained its seventh place standing among public universities. The Institute was highlighted in "Programs to Look For" for its co-op, internship, senior capstone, and study abroad programs. "Our success in ECE can be attributed to continually recruiting and retaining the finest faculty and students that are supported by a great group of research and administrative staff," said Gary S. May, Steve W. Chaddick School Chair in ECE. "While these sorts of rankings mean different things to different people, we can all be very proud of our accomplishments and the high esteem in which our peers hold us."
