Georgia Tech’s School of Public Policy’s graduate program earned strong marks in the 2022 U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate School rankings. The School maintained its spot in the top 20% of graduate public policy programs nationally while rising one place to No. 11 for environmental policy. Meanwhile, the highly regarded Information and Communications Policy program returned to the rankings at No. 4. U.S. News did not publish rankings for the specialty in 2020.

“When combined with the advantages of studying at one of the nation’s best public schools also noted for its innovation and value, these rankings show the enormous benefit of earning a graduate degree in public policy at Georgia Tech,” said Marilyn Brown, Regents Professor, Brook Byers Professor of Sustainable Systems, and interim chair of the School of Public Policy.

“These rankings highlight the School’s strengths in environmental and energy policy, which is so important as the U.S. administration seeks to decarbonize the economy while recovering from the global pandemic. It also highlights our leadership in information and technology management, including internet governance, cybersecurity and telecommunications policy, and intellectual property and information management in organizations and governments,”  Brown said.

U.S. News ranked the School’s overall graduate program at No. 45 nationally. The policy analysis concentration is ranked No. 29.

The School’s graduate program offers a Master of Science in Public Policy in six concentrations: energy and environmental policy; information and communications policy; science and technology policy; urban and regional economic development policy; policy analysis and evaluation; and public management.

Students also may pursue a Master of Science in Cybersecurity with a policy focus, the Master of Sustainable Energy and Environmental Management, or a dual masters degree in Public Policy and City and Regional Planning in conjunction with the College of Design.

The School also offers a doctoral degree and a bachelor’s degree in public policy.
