Ivan Allen College Dean Kaye Husbands Fealing was recently re-elected to the board of directors of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

Husbands Fealing, first elected to the board in 2017, is one of 14 esteemed academics, scientists, and other professionals who guide the affairs of the AAAS, whose mission is to “advance science, engineering, and innovation throughout the world for the benefit of all people.”

Husbands Fealing became an Elected Fellow of the AAAS in 2017. Her new term on the board runs through 2025.

“I am excited to continue my role on the board of this interdisciplinary organization, which like the Ivan Allen College and Georgia Tech, seeks to advance science and technology while also benefitting the human condition,” Husbands Fealing said.

In another notable appointment, the Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) appointed Marilyn Brown, interim chair, Regents Professor, and Brook Byers Professor of Sustainable Systems in the School of Public Policy, to its board of directors.

With its specialized teams and a consortium of more than 100 affiliated universities, including Georgia Tech, ORAU works with its federal, state, local, and commercial customers to advance national priorities and serve the public interest.

“I am proud and delighted to join ORAU’s board of directors. We share the same vision of harnessing the potential in researchers, scientists, and students to solve our nation’s most challenging issues.”

Brown’s term on the ORAU board runs through 2024.
