Bianchini, a PhD student in the School of History and Sociology, will be speaking about his paper "The Perfect(able) German Body: Sport as Technological Utopianism in East Germany" at the History of Technology Working Group. The paper examines sports rhetoric and psychology, standardized training, and human-machine questions in the GDR.
