The Student Center Programs Council's annual Sting Break event is back! We're excited to be able to host this event in-person. A few things you can look forward to are two carnival rides, t-shirts, Chick fil A and inflatables. This event is free, but tickets are limited, so make sure to reserve your ticket starting March 8th by going to https://gatech.universitytickets.com/.

Masks are required. To learn more about steps SCPC is taking to make events safer for students, please go here

This year, Sting Break takes on a mythical, fairy tale theme taking place at several locations on campus including:

  • Tech Green: Check-in, inflatables, activities & giveaways
  • Area 2 Visitor Parking Lot (next to the Student Center Parking Deck): Carnival Rides
  • IC Lawn: Food & Drinks
  • Home Park in the Exhibition Hall: T-shirts

Registering for a time ticket on Campus Tickets will ensure your participation in these activities! All Sting Break tickets are free for Georgia Tech students and can be reserved through Campus Tickets. Due to capacity restrictions, tickets are limited! This event is only open to Georgia Tech students.

*Please note that only tickets reserved through Campus Tickets will be valid for the event and any tickets purchased from an outside source will be considered invalid.

Below are some additional details for you to know:

  • There are four different, one-hour long time slots, the first beginning at 6pm and the last one beginning at 9pm. Students must show up to Tech Green at their scheduled time slot in order to check-in to the event and receive their event wrist band.
  • After getting their wristband, students will be able to enter Tech Green and enjoy the rest of the event. Free movement between all four different locations is allowed and encouraged! While Tech Green marks the entrance to the event and the location of carnival games, mini golf, inflatable games and bungee trampolines, all locations have their own fun activities for students to participate in!
  • The parking lot behind the Student Center will be the location of our carnival rides, including a Ferris Wheel and the Flying Dutchman.
  • The IC Lawn is where all students will get their free food! The menu includes popcorn, cotton candy, Chick-fil-a fries and the choice of a Chick-fil-a spicy chicken sandwich, regular chicken sandwich ,veggie wrap or vegan wrap (please note your dietary restrictions when checking out).
  • Home Park located on the second floor of the Exhibition Hall is where students can pick up their Sting Break T-Shirt!
  • In order to limit the number of students at the event at one time, students will only be allowed to participate in the event during their time slot hour.
    • There will be different colored wristbands corresponding to the different time slots to help ensure only registered students are participating in the event.
    • We ask that once your time slot is up you exit the event.
    • Students may be asked to leave if they stay past the end of their slot. This measure is in place to help increase the amount of social distancing throughout the event.
    • Understanding that the hour slot is more limited than years passed, each student will receive a brochure of the event containing information about rides, games, food and a map of the event. This will help students quickly identify the activities they want to participate in and their locations.
