There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Take a stroll down supply and demand memory lane to examine who paid the tariffs the U.S. imposed on China with Professor Tibor Besedes. We’ll discuss using the supply and demand curves to perform an economic welfare analysis of the incidence of tariffs and examine what data tell us about it.
Time allowing, other trade policy musings include the Phase One trade deal with China, semiconductors and the U.S. trade war with China, and vaccine nationalism.
